Thanks for Listening! Send me your questions-maybe I'll do a special episode for you!

Meta quietly dropped one of the most useful updates for small advertisers in a long time  a one-click CAPI setup. I'm breaking down what it is, why it matters, and exactly what you should do inside Events Manager this week.

IN THIS EPISODE

  • - What CAPI (Conversions API) actually is and why it's different from the Meta Pixel
  • - Why browser-based tracking has been getting less reliable (iOS, ad blockers, cookie restrictions) and how much conversion data you might be losing because of it
  • - Why most small advertisers never set up CAPI before
  • - What Meta announced on April 15, 2026: a one-click CAPI setup inside Events Manager
  • - What the data says: advertisers with CAPI active see an average 17.8% lower cost per result vs. Pixel only
  • - My three-step action plan: check your event coverage score, turn on one-click CAPI if you're eligible, then monitor your event match quality score
  • - Already using GHL or another partner integration? Your existing CAPI setup is not affected  you're good

[00:00:00] Hello welcome back to Facebook Ads Quick Tips If this is your first time welcome I'm so glad you're here And fun fact I don't know how many times I've actually recorded entire episodes and never hit record so that was fun This is take two Um today I want to talk about something that is super exciting What is this super exciting thing It's called One-Click CAPI Setup And if the word CAPI makes you just like shudder because you have no idea I get it I'm with you there and this update is specifically going to help people like you and me So what is CAPI Here's the quick version CAPI stands for Conversion API It's Meta's [00:01:00] way of getting more accurate data because it comes from your server instead of the browser I'll tell you why it matters but you don't need to know how it works if you have your Pixel set up then you are getting data from your browser and there's a lot that's happened in the past five years Number one being iOS 14 which was the Apple update that everybody was terrified about because It gave Apple users the option to opt out In fact they had to opt in to track you There's ad blockers there's all kinds of things Now I still highly highly recommend that you have your Pixel In fact this is this is my hill to die on right But [00:02:00] now if you don't have CAPI set up some of you do this is going to a huge improvement

Here's here's one way some advertisers report that if they only have the pixel and not the CAPI set up once they once they get their CAPI or their conversions API turned on they see a 30 increase in conversions that's pretty good right So it's optimizing your ads with complete information which means your your ad account is learning more and everything just works better Your costs go down I highly encourage everybody to have their CAPI set up ? if this is so great

Why wasn't everyone doing it?

. Here's a few reasons why not everyone was doing it.

Number one, not everyone even knew [00:03:00] it existed. . If you weren't up to date on all things meta ads and ads manager, you might not have known about it

Some people just go right in and they start pushing buttons and, you know, hope for the best.

I encourage all of my clients to make sure that this is set up because the, it's the best way to optimize your ads. , The more data that, that Meta has, the more they're learning, the better they get, the better your ad results are. . Y- your cost per lead goes down.

. But again, not everyone knows about it. I'm always happy to do this for my clients if it is... , it depends on their tech stack, because it is, , kind of a technical nightmare. If you didn't have the right tech stack, it was not easy.

, You need a developer and code, [00:04:00] and I don't know. .. It's very confusing if you don't have the right tech stack. Now, I have GoHighLevel, and it's super easy in there, but not everyone has that.

- If your software, does not integrate with conversion API, then you're kind of left on your own if you're not a developer. Or you can do a third-party provider . I had a client who was getting just terrible results, and I kept, I kept letting her know, "Listen, we need to set up your pixel.

We need to set up your CAPI. You're gonna do so much better if we do these things." And finally, she was able to figure it out, and it turns out she went with AWS, which was one of the providers, which is Amazon Web Services. I don't know what it stands for. [00:05:00] But holy cow, it's expensive. She was so upset because it's a month...

I think it was a monthly charge, and it wasn't just like a couple of bucks or 20 bucks or 30 bucks. I think it was hundreds of dollars, and she couldn't figure out how to turn it off. Anyway, that's just a side note

, Most DIYers or smaller businesses don't have their CAPI set up and they're just left with the pixel, hopefully. Hopefully they have at least that. And so their ads aren't as optimized, and they're probably spending more money, and you're not even getting accurate data. So on April 15th, I guess happy tax day, dun-da-da-da, Meta announced

One-click CAPI setup. It's exactly what it sounds like. You go into your Events Manager, and if you don't already have CAPI set up, then [00:06:00] you'll see the option to enable it with one click, and then Meta handles the rest on their end, and you don't have to touch anything.

You don't have to touch any code or developer or hire third party, nothing. You just turn it on. , So just check your Events Manager and see if it's, if it's there. And if you don't already have your CAPI set up and you have the option to do so, then go for it. I think you're gonna be very pleased with your results

So Meta says, if you wanna know if this actually makes a difference, now again, this is coming from Meta. They say that advertisers who have CAPI set up

see an average of almost 18% lower cost per result compared to those with only the pixel. Now again, that's Meta's number, so But it is consistent with what a lot of agencies report as [00:07:00] well

So what should you do now? Okay, I recommend you do three things right now. - Go to your events manager, check your event coverage score, and Meta will show you this in the dashboard. If it's low, that means that your tracking probably has some, some gaps.

Two, look to see if you have the one-click CAPI option. If you do, turn it on. If you don't, maybe, maybe your software, , has an opportunity to integrate and go ahead and turn it on. If you have GoHighLevel, it's super easy

So those, that's two. And then three, give it a few days after you turn it on, and then go back and check and see what your event match quality score is. I bet you're gonna have better matching, which means better optimization. So it should take no more than 10 minutes if you [00:08:00] have this available to you this isn't just one of those updates that Meta comes out with every five minutes But this is actually one of those things that is, has been a nightmare for so many people for so long.

It's surprising it's taken them this long to, to do it and get it set up that way. Now, if this just seems like I am talking googly , just making no sense, but you are running ads and you do want this set up, I'm going to be doing a live training in my school community, and the link will be in the show notes.

I'm doing this for, for members in my community, and I would like you to join. It's gonna be a free training, so grab the link in the show notes. And I thank you so much for, for being here and hanging out and listening to this

maybe - confusing episode. Take care. I'll see you next time
