Thanks for Listening! Send me your questions-maybe I'll do a special episode for you!

Threads may not be the first place most business owners think about when it comes to Meta ads, but that may be exactly why it’s worth watching.

In this episode, I’m sharing why Threads has caught my attention and why I think it could become an interesting opportunity for advertisers in 2026.

We’re talking about the shift toward more conversation-based engagement, the potential for lower ad costs while the platform is still less crowded, and why this may be one of those easier tests to make inside Meta without adding a bunch more work to your plate.

This isn’t about chasing every shiny new thing. It’s about noticing where there may be a little more breathing room before everyone else jumps in.

Inside this episode:

  • Why Threads feels different from Instagram and Facebook
  • How conversation-style content may create more engagement
  • Why lower competition can sometimes mean lower costs
  • How Advantage+ may make Threads easier to test
  • Why I’ll be watching this placement more closely

If ad costs have been feeling higher, reach has been harder to get, or Instagram feels more crowded than ever, this is a good one to keep on your radar.

I’ll likely be testing Threads more and sharing what I find in future episodes, so stay tuned.

If you've been ignoring threads. Then this episode is for you. Hello and welcome to the Facebook Ads Quick Tips podcast. If this is your first time, thank you so much and if you are a regular, thank you so much. Also, I'm Stacy Kotz, your host, and today I'm talking all about threads.

 Threads took off.

in 2023, That's when it was launched. I know that, you know, as marketers and creators and in the digital space, we're all excited when we see new platforms and everyone jumps on. Test it out a little bit and then, ooh, what's, you know, is this gonna work?

Is this gonna last? I've heard more of, oh, I found my people, so I'm on there. I don't post too regularly on threads. I haven't really found my rhythm, but I do know many people that are finding quite a bit of success on threads. And so today's episode is about should you use ads. On threads, meta ads. Now, as you probably know, meta owns threads, so it's also on the platform and it's, we're gonna get right into that.

Why I am looking at threads and why it's a platform not to ignore. . I saw, so I saw this statistic and it really made me perk up, which is it was posted from Buffer and they analyzed over 52 million posts across 10 platforms.

And what they found on social media was engagement in 2026 is what is really driving the stats. So engagement data is up and you are getting a lift by engaging in these platforms, which on threads is replying. It's not posting. I know our mindset always goes to, I have to post more. I have to post more, but, and this has kind of always been true on LinkedIn, at least that's what I always thought was comment.

A great way to get your engagement and your views up on LinkedIn has always been, not always been, . Reply thoughtfully to comments, be a thought leader by sharing your opinion on comments on people's posts what this buffer. Um, statistics said was that you get this engagement lift.

They found that over 10 different platforms, but on threads it was 42% the highest of any other platform. LinkedIn was 30% and Instagram was 21%. . , I'm gonna share three reasons why. Threads is a platform when you're doing meta ads to not ignore.

Okay, so the first one is threads is about conversation. It's not ultra polished. It's not that Instagram, you know, camera ready, beautiful. Everything needs to be perfect and curated. It's more of a, oh, I have this funny thought. Let me just share and then. People comment and it's, , it seems to be a little bit more casual and fun in that respect.

And maybe Instagram started out that way  So if your audience is tired of the curated feed, then definitely give it a go. They have Meta has rolled it out. It, it advertising in Ads Manager on Threads was a slow role. And what I've, what I understand now is that it's available to. Everyone, but again, who knows? , It's, it's available in the accounts that I work in.

Second is the cost. The cost may be, and this is no guarantee, but the cost may be lower then what we're seeing on Instagram and Facebook. Because there's not as much competition. Some people either don't think it's worth it or are turning it off, you know, they don't know what it is or they're not on threads, so they just think pe their audience isn't on threads.

.  Here's the part that's the best part and maybe the no-brainer as far as I'm concerned, is there's no more extra work on your part. All you have to do is you're IT ads manager and all you have to do is toggle on threads.

If you have a Threads Pro profile, you can. Connect them. If you don't, it will say, just use Instagram so you can connect your Instagram with threads. Am I thinking threads is the answer to everything? No, of course not. Am I thinking don't ignore it and give it a go and test it out.

Yes.

And to end this, I, you know, I'm super curious about this myself, so I'm definitely going to be looking at numbers as far as. Costs and conversions on threads compared to Instagram and Facebook in my own accounts. So I'm probably going to be making more episodes about this topic.

Let me know what you think. If you're gonna try threads, if you've already been advertising on threads, what you have found. And I thank you so much for being here. As always.
