Hey there, it's Stacy Covitz, meta ad strategist and host of the Facebook Ads Quick Tip Podcast. Today, I am having some real talk. I want to talk about something that is everywhere, and that's AI. It's in our tools, our feeds, our ads. People are using it as therapy and

and just everything that you can possibly think of. whether we love it or we roll our eyes every time it comes up, it is here to stay. So a couple points I want to make. First one is it's everywhere. We have to accept that. It's not a trend. It's like the internet or smartphones. It is just who we are now and fighting it just

doesn't make sense. The better move is to figure out how to use it in a way that feels aligned with who we are and what we do. It's hard. It's hard for some people. I know that it's definitely a topic of almost every conversation I've had lately. Okay, so number two.

Let's talk about how many great things it can do. I mean, I use it every day in my business. I use it to brainstorm, organize, come up with systems. It gets me unstuck. If you've ever stared at a blank screen and wondering where to start, AI can get your juices flowing. With all that said, I feel like I need to share.

share what I'm hearing out there in the online space. And right now, that is people are tired of it. People are tired of AI and they're talking about it. A lot of people in my circle know how to use it. They do use it. They love it. But we are finding that people are also rolling their eyes and saying,

my gosh, it's so obvious they used AI. Come on people. And people are cautious now. And what is that doing? That is creating a lot of mistrust. And here's a concept that I'm hearing a lot, which is a trust deficit. There's a trust deficit right now in the online world.

Back in 2020, 21, 22, it seemed like everybody and anybody could launch something and make a gazillion dollars, right? Those are the stories that we hear. And it is just not the case anymore for so many reasons. But AI is one of them. AI is one of them. We are losing trust in

what we're seeing, what we're hearing, because we don't really know. People are looking at it saying, is that AI? I don't know, I can't tell. Is that photo real? I don't know. Is that story real? I don't know. So if we can't even trust what is in front of us, before our very eyes, it's that much harder to create trust.

with people that we want to buy from us. Which brings me to ⁓ a main point I want to share, which is right now, it's more important than ever to be authentic. And yes, that is kind of a, I don't want to say cringy word, but overused or used all the time. And I cringe a little at myself when I use it, but it's true. Authenticity is here.

huge right now. It's never been more valuable. Real people, real faces, real words, real mistakes, real vulnerability. Use yourself if you're the brand. Use real pictures, real photos.

As much as you can, as much as you can. Obviously we want to use AI to be more efficient and quick and get more out there. But at the same time, think about if there's something real you could share instead. If you're, if you're doing your ad and you have this cool AI produced image and you also have a photo of a real person doing a real thing that's not

photoshopped or filtered, test it. Put them side to side. See which one is working best. I found personally that photos of you and your face and being yourself really do better than these polished, perfect photos of your face. And that's just a general thing. That's not an AI thing, right? And that's my two cents.

If you're an AI lover and it is really getting you to the next level in your business, that is so awesome. Keep it up. At the same time, throw in some authenticity, some vulnerability, who you really are. If you're using chat GBT to write your ad copy, make sure you go through it. Make sure you go through it and that you sprinkle in yourself because

People looking at ads right now are saying, ugh, that's AI, and they're just scrolling by. So that's it. That is my real talk today. And as always, I thank you so much for your support and for listening. Keep yourself human. Go out there and be yourself, and I will see you next time.
