0:00:00 - (Stacy Covitz): Foreign welcome to Facebook Ads Quick Tips, the podcast for online business owners who want to make Facebook ads work without the overwhelm. I'm Stacy Kopitz, Meta Ads Strategist, here to give you bite sized tips to help you know where to start, what's needed, and if ads are right for you. Let's get started. You're going to hire someone to do your Facebook ads. That is so exciting. You are meeting some people and you are wondering what in the world are you even supposed to ask?
0:00:43 - You don't know anything about running ads. How do you even know what questions to ask? Here are some basic questions when you are chatting or having calls with prospective service providers. Number one, what is included in the service? Because there are so many facets to running Facebook ads, you want to know what you're getting. Are you going to be setting everything up as far as the tech goes? Are you a tech person?
0:01:17 - Are you comfortable with tech? Do they offer that? There's a lot of things that have to happen as far as setting up technology. Different accounts, different software, speaking to each other. There's all kinds of things that need to be set up behind the scenes. And if you don't have a team, a tech team or someone that that works, that does that, and you're not comfortable doing it yourself, find out is that included?
0:01:46 - Is your ad creative? The creative is the actual what you see either the video or the image with the writing on it, the text on it, do they do that or do you need to do that? A lot of times you might not understand and you hire an ad manager and you find out that that's not included and you're not a creative person and you need that. So find out if that's included. Do they do the copywriting or are you expected to have your own copywriting? Do they charge extra for copywriting? You want to know what's included?
0:02:21 - That's number one. Number two, find out how they communicate with their clients. Communication is not something a lot of people might think of when they're going to hire somebody. And if you don't have experience and you've never hired a team, you might just assume that people are going to communicate the way you communicate on the phone or on a zoom or email. However it is, find out how they communicate.
0:02:54 - Many business owners are really disappointed in how their service providers communicate with them. Either they feel lost in the shuffle or they feel like they're not getting their questions answered or their service provider is blowing them off. Whatever the case may be, if you like to have communication on a weekly basis. Maybe you don't like communication at all as far as the nitty gritty. Maybe you just want to know, hey, is it working great? Keep going. And you don't want to be bothered. But make sure you understand how they communicate and if that's on par with what you like, again, that is something that many, many business owners are disappointed with when they hire service providers is the communication. Make sure you're on the same page for communication.
0:03:47 - And the third thing that you want to know is how is this person staying up to date with all of Facebook's changes and the changing landscape of not only social media, but paid media and strategies with AI and just all of the things that change on a constant basis. How are they staying up to date? Now? You don't need to know. Like, oh, well, I'm, you know, I get trained by this person. Like, you don't need to know the specifics, but you want to know that they have been active in running ads and they know what's going on and they didn't get trained in 2018 and then never stepped foot back in there.
0:04:29 - So make sure that they are up to date on what's happening in the market. If Zuck is making a gazillion changes, because that happens all the time. Are they using AI, are they not? You want to know those things? That's a good starting point. To recap, Number one, what's included in your service? Are you. If you're not a tech person, find out if that's included. Find out if they are doing your copywriting or if they're doing your ad creative. You want to know these things.
0:04:57 - Number two, how often and how will we be communicating? What can I expect? Will you be sending me a report? Will we be getting on the phone? How will we communicate if I have questions? So make sure that you're on the same page with communication. Number three, are you up to date on current ad policies, strategies, trends, and what's working and what's not? All of the changes and the updates and the AI, are you familiar and up to date with all of that?
0:05:31 - The last thing you want is a 2018 Facebook ad campaign in 2025, because it's night and day. So those are the three questions that I suggest you start with if you are looking to have someone run your ads. I just happen to be a Facebook ad strategist, happy to chat with you about any of this.
