Stacy Covitz

Thanks for Listening! Send me your questions-maybe I'll do a special episode for you!

In this episode of Facebook Ads Quick Tips, host Stacy Covitz dives into three crucial factors that could be undermining your Facebook advertising success and wasting your hard-earned budget.

If you're an online business owner looking to improve your ad strategy without feeling overwhelmed, this episode is a must-listen. Stacy emphasizes the importance of choosing the right advertising objective, avoiding the pitfalls of boosting posts, and exercising the patience needed for Facebook's algorithm to work its magic.

3 Mistakes that waste your money

  1. Choosing the wrong objective- the algorithm is set up to find people that are ready to do what you’re asking. Engagement? They will engage. Traffic? They’ll visit. Sales? They’re ready to buy if the offer is good.
  2. Boosting Posts- This is oftentimes a popup that entices people to do it without knowing exactly what to expect. Don’t fall for it.
  3. Not waiting long enough to optimize- in 2025 you can expect a new ad campaign to take 3-7 days to fully optimize. This means making changes the next day because you don’t like what you see, wastes money because now it’s like starting all over again.

0:00:00 . Welcome to Facebook Ads Quick Tips, the podcast for online business owners who want to make Facebook ads work without the overwhelm. I'm Stacy Kopitz, meta ads Strategist, here to give you bite sized tips to help you know where to start, what's needed, and if ads are right for you. Let's get started. Today we're going to talk about three things that could be ruining your ads. And not only that, having your money be wasted, which nobody wants, right?

0:00:42 - (A): So let's get right to it. Number one, you're choosing the wrong objective. What do I mean by objective? For example, let's say you want to sell your product, you go in to create your ad and you see all these choices and you've heard that, oh, I could get cheaper leads if I use traffic. So you choose traffic. But what you really need to be choosing is sales. You're trying to sell a product and so you need to choose the objective that matches what you want.

0:01:20 - (A): That's number one. Number two is boosting a post. I know I talk about this all the time. If you're familiar with my rants about boosting posts. Boosting a post instead of going into ads Manager to create your ad is not going to get you any sales and most likely it's going to just be throwing your money away. So boosting a post is number two. It's not a strategy for your meta ads. Number three, and this one's big.

0:01:57 - (A): So if. So if you learned ads a while ago, you may remember that you could start your ad, start your campaign, and by the next day look at your metrics and kind of have an idea whether or not it's working. But things have really changed in that respect. And now you need to wait. You need to give Facebook time to go out and find the people and your audience that are going to resonate with your offer.

0:02:32 - (A): The algorithm is really smart now and it could find those people for you. It's amazing. It could be magical. But it takes patience. And what I'm finding is that people are so nervous about, you know, you. And I get that you run, you turn on your ad and all of a sudden it's, it starts to feel like, oh my gosh, I'm spending all my money. But you have got to let Facebook. You have got to let Facebook optimize your ad.

0:03:03 - (A): And that takes at least 48, 72 hours. But I do suggest people spend at least three to five days before they make any changes. So turn on your ad and yes, you can watch it and see what's going on, but just know what you're seeing in the first 72 hours is not indicative of how your ad is going to perform. Give it at least three days. On day four have another look. If nothing is happening go ahead and feel free to turn it off, but at least give it the three days.

0:03:45 - (A): Let me recap. Number one is using the wrong objective, Number two is boosting a post and number three is losing your patience and not giving Facebook enough time to optimize your ad. I hope that was helpful and I appreciate you listening. I will see you on the next episode. Woohoo. You made it to the end. I hope you found this informative and that you can go use something that you learned in your business.
