Facebook Ads Quick Tips
2: Your business needs a Facebook Business Page- Yes- Your business
Thanks for Listening! Send me your questions-maybe I'll do a special episode for you!
Stacy Covitz, a Meta ad strategist, explains why every business should have its own Facebook business page. Here are the key takeaways:
- Separation from Personal Profiles: A Facebook business page is distinct from a personal profile. While a profile might have been created years ago for personal connections, a business page is specifically designed to serve business needs.
- Massive Audience: With billions of users on Facebook, having a business page ensures you can reach a huge pool of potential customers. Even if your target audience isn’t directly on Facebook, their parents or connections might be, making it valuable for nearly every business.
- Building Trust and Presence: When potential customers search for services (like a local gutter cleaning service), an active Facebook page helps establish credibility. A dormant or non-existent page might signal to customers that the business is inactive or not engaged.
- Community Engagement: A business page isn’t just for ads; it’s a platform to interact with customers through posts, contests, testimonials, and promotions. This engagement can help build a loyal community and enhance your online presence.
- Essential for Advertising: Importantly, having a Facebook page is a prerequisite for running Facebook ads. Even if you’re not planning on advertising immediately, setting up a page is a smart move for future marketing opportunities.
Stacy wraps up by encouraging business owners to set up their Facebook page—it takes only about 5–10 minutes—and reminds listeners that additional resources and tips are available in the show notes.

Stacy Covitz Meta ad strategist here to give you bite-sized tips to help you know where to start what's needed and it's ads are right for you let's get started hello welcome to episode 2 I cannot believe it we're here second time!
Today I am going to briefly talk about the importance of having a Facebook page for your business a Facebook business page which is different than your Facebook profile your Facebook profile you may have opened or yeah you might have opened your account when you know in 2011 or 2010 or you know even if it was 2 years ago and your reason was to follow friends and family and just be on Facebook someone sent you something and you needed to be on there for some reason that is different than a Facebook page
If you're a business you can go to your personal profile and create a business page I'm not going to get into how to do that however let me just give you a few reasons why you need one
I know that a lot of businesses that I talk to will say my customers are on Facebook I don't need a Facebook page and my response to that without being snarky because I definitely don't want to be snarky to anybody is there's three billion people on Facebook how do you know your people aren't on there that seems like kind of a blanket statement when you have a pool of 3 billion people now obviously if your Market is children under age 10 11 12 something like that then yes your actual client pool is not on there but their parents are you obviously need their parents permission slash checkbook in order to pay you so I can't really think of any other reason or situation and let me know I'm sure there are but generally speaking your customers and clients are using Facebook
Here's the other thing let's say and this happens a lot let's say you are in this I'll use myself as an example I am looking to hire someone to clean the gutters in my house because I don't know if they've ever been cleaning so I go and I Google gutter clean something like that and a couple Pages pop up and I'm looking and then I've narrowed it down let's say to two or three and then I go to Facebook because I want to see more locally you know what kind of what kind of business they are who they support who their clients are things like that and if I go to Facebook and I type in the name of this business and nothing pops up my first thought is oh okay so I will probably move on now I'm not saying that is typical or normal and maybe other consumers would differ with that approach but that's that would be what I would do or another example The Gutter The Gutter business started their Facebook page 5 years ago and they opened it just because maybe someone like me told them that they had to they haven't done anything so there's been literally nothing posted since 2020 so that's again I'm thinking wow all right this company is not very they're not very active or they're not very customer friendly and I understand businesses especially if you if you're a soul business you only have you're you're the only person you're busy and you don't have time to be doing that but it doesn't take too much upkeep to post something once a week once a month you can even schedule it so that's my second reason you want to make sure that people that are searching you know that you're around still another reason is you could really build your business Do you really find marketing campaigns without running ads you could have contests you could shout out to client hey did you like our our service or did you like this or what's the one thing you liked about this and and get a community going and that is really attractive to potential customers here's another reason why you should have a Facebook a lot of business owners especially if they're solo they use they actually use their Facebook business page as sort of a website you could have your links on there you could promote your products and your services you could have a button in there to schedule appointments it's really Savvy it's a really it's a pretty robust way to just start out you know to have it having a presence as a business owner now I'm going to wrap up today with the final reason and the reason why I'm telling you why you need a business page because you're here for the meta ads quick tips podcast which you need to have a Facebook page in order to run Facebook ads so it's a prerequisite to run ads so I just wanted to give you the compelling reasons why even if you don't think you're ever going to run out of businesses have no intention of the beginning I'm not going to run as I don't need to run ads I hate suck I am not on Facebook whatever your reason for thinking you might not want to run ads ever go ahead go create a Facebook page go create a Facebook page right now it takes no more than 5-10 minutes if you need help I'm always here shout out send me a message I can help you set it up I have videos the whole thing to wrap up I just want to say every business should have a Facebook page especially if you're considering running Facebook ads thanks for and I will see you the next time you made it to the end I hope you found this informative and that you can go use something that you learned in your business make sure you check out the show notes for all the goodies and resources you could learn more about ads thank you so much for listening and I'll see you in it
